Phantom of the Opera. Just go see it. Don’t think about anything else!!

Actually, Chicago is pretty good too, try first few rows of the dress circle for good seats.

All of the ones suggested so far are a fantastic night out.
You may also want to try Mary Poppins – lots of famous songs, a good story, and wonderful sets – with some pretty amazing stunts as well.
Or, if you want something that’s laugh out loud funny, there’s Spamalot (based on the film Monty Python and the Holy Grail), or something a bit more adult, but still very funny, is Avenue Q (its like an adult version of Sesame Street).
If you want an incredible spectacle, and if you can get the tickets, go for Lord of the Rings. It is amazing.

As to where to sit, it doesn’t really matter in these big theatres. All are good seats. It depends on your budget. The front part of the circle is usually good, or somewhere toward the front of the stalls.

If it is still running go and see Wicked, or Les Miserables, or Phantom of the Opera, I saw all three in London in August and they were AMAZING!!!!
