Loch Lomond is lovely and the Lodge on Loch Lomond hotel is lush and in a great location for chilling out or exploring the local area . I would also recomend Edinburgh just cause i love it as a city and there are loads of good hotels …..
Hope you have a good break

If it's scenery you want, Speyside is a good centre. It's adjacent to the Cairngorms, not far from Inverness and Loch Ness – and you can extend this to a circular day's drive via Spean Bridge and Loch Laggan.
Hilton Hotel Coylumbridge sometimes offers good-value short breaks.

Inverness is a friendly and small city, with good access to Loch Ness, The Black Isle, the cairngorms and the Highlands. (and Easyjet fly there for a pittance)

If you are travelling around Scotland, a short stay in Pitlochry, Perthshire is ideal as it breaks the journey, the scenery is fantastic and Hotels in Pitlochry offer the best in Scottish facilities, food and local produce to give anyone a lasting flavour of Scotland.

If you are visiting Edinburgh on a budget, our family run enterprise is very central and our rates very competitive. Have a look for yourself at http://www.heraldhousehotel.co.uk/tariffs.htm
