What area of London are you looking at?
I enjoy The Glasshouse in Kew fabulous restaurant (French style food and would be great for a 50th birthday).

Why don’t you try one of the Gordon Ramsey pubs? The food is fab and the prices are much more reasonable than his restaurants.

Otherwise, I can personally highly recommend The Greyhound in Battersea –

The Botanist on Sloane Square –

Jimmy’s on the Kings Road –

    The Wolseley in Piccadilly –

    Have a fab time!

The Two Brewers Pub in Covent Garden on Monmouth Street.
Love it there, traditional pub with great food and wine!

Or just down the road there is a restaurant called Dial next to the 5 star Covent Garden hotel. Lovely! And there are sooo many theatres round there..(i live there so i should know :P ) if you do go to the restaurant Dial, you can see a theatre around the seven dials that is currently showing Chicago..would definitely recommend.

Or there is even the West End where all the cinemas are and other great restaurants.

Can highly recommend Great Queen Street, located between Holborn and Covent Garden. It is a kind of gastropub-restaurant and serves really good food at reasonable prices. Friendly staff too
