I have never been to London before, so we would similar to to stay in a good road house in a good location. Nothing as well costly (over 400 per night) though zero cheap.

Claridges Hotel is, in my opinion, the best hotel in London but the price is a bit more than 400 British pounds per night for a single.

Well for that price you won’t get the best. Try the Thistle group, they have some great deals & hotels in good positions. If you had a bit more, The Ritz Or The Savoy. Go to the Ritz for High tea and The Savoy Grill for Dinner. You can enjoy the best public Hotels in London by just using the bar.
Try the Ritz or Claridges.
