If they want people to use community transport, and save the environment then surely they should lower the cost to encourage people to do travel on buses to work.

It’s ridiculously high. I have an Oyster Card so it’s cheaper but it’s still so expensive compared to other countries. It also annoys me that you freeze your arse off in Winter and melt in the Summer. With all the money they charge us, can’t they afford proper air con/heating?
It’s not just in London, it’s all over the country….ease congestion and use public transport they say….yeah right. They have put the train fares up to ease congestion on the trains…..what planet are they all living on!
Folks, it’s a no-brainer!! Nice Mr Ken wants us all to use Oyster Cards (the sensible option, as B97 st pointed out), these fare increases are simply a way to get people to move over to the system.
Our wonderful British press have been making a lot of noise about this for the past few days; strange really, as I’m sure they are all on expense accounts and/or travelling by taxi anyway!!!
No-one like a price rise…but if you dont want to pay as much, just get an Oyster card, its easy and you pay HALF that amount.
These prices are solely intended to encourage as many people as possible to use an Oyster, which is only sensible.
get your self a pre pay oyster card, easy!
and yes travel is cheaperr in other countries, but their wages aren’t always as high as ours, it is all relevent. =)

i am utterly disgusted being on a low income i now have to walk everywhere and i thought the idea was to get people out of their cars and onto public transport i could rant and moan about this all day bloody ken Livingston wish he would make up his mind
