the swine flu is another version of the flu….The Flu has been killing people all over the world for decades….

Try and remember that nearly the entire Aids epidemic in North America was begun by patient zero- a gay, mail, flight attendant. The swine flue virus is a billion times more contagious and yet it seems to be less virulent than at first supposed- hey, why play with fire. I applaud the Mexican researchers for their caution. I don’t really care that much if Joe Blow missed his vacation in Cancun this month.

My doctor tried to get me to take a flu shot 6 months ago and I passed.
Today I told him I haven’t even had a cold this year he told me the Swine Flu issuue is all blow out of porportion.
Neither. Its a potentially dangerous flu virus. One that might kill a lot of people if it spread wildly…hence all the caution.
I live in Texas there a lot of people going around with the sniffles so its not too scary. Its going to take alot longer than a couple of weeks before you can get rid of it you have to manage it properly. I’m still wary on weather it will mutate or not.
The regular old flu kills 36,000 people every year. I think this is being overblown on purpose, to gerab more power from the individual citizen. "You never want to let a good crisis go to waste."
I agree with Bret above. Also, the WHO is at fault for labeling it at a level 5, when SARS, which killed many many more people and was a more dangerous strain, was only a level 3.
They also need to watch the language used – a pandemic only means that it is present in more than 2 countries (or something like that). It doesn’t matter how FEW cases there are, or how treatable it is, it is considered a pandemic, which brings to mind a rampaging plague killing millions. It is overblown.
