From where?? The nearest stations are Westminster and Charing Cross and it is one word Whitehall.
The nearest stations are Westminster (District, Circle and Jubilee lines) and Charing Cross (Northern and Bakerloo line) – there is no such station as Trafalgar Square. Charing Cross is the nearest station to Trafalgar square (1 minute walk).
Whitehall is the road linking Westminster and Trafalgar Square and it is only a 15 minute walk in length (i.e. not far from either Westminster or Charing Cross station). There are numerous buses running between the two stations along Whitehall (88, 188, 24, 11 spring to mind, but there are others).
Whitehall is situated between charing cross station and westminster station

To get to whitehall by underground, it depends on where you are coming from.
Try using the journey planner on the TFL website, this is very helpful!
if your especially lazy, there are buses between westminister and piccadilly circus tubes and you could get off in the middle of whitehall itself
