I don’t live near London. I have never been. But hire cars have to go through strict tests before going up for hire.
The oldest hire car I have ever had was about 1 year old with 16,000miles (small Peugeot). I have had a people carrier where I was the first person to use it aswell!
Don’t worry about an unreliable car. You should be fine. My advice is to use a big UK Hire firm rather than just a small one, as they’re usually cheaper if you have a bump. If it will let you, cancel with this company and go for ENTERPRISE or HERTZ – they have very good cars.
