I would similar to to begin renting cars over a week end though it would be a con to go to a let centre to pick up a car as well as afterwards behind again to lapse it.

In the US Enterprise Rental Cars does that. They have a UK counterpart but I am not sure what its name is.

When you rent a car, loads of forms have to be completed, and most places now take your photo in case of fraud, so it seems unlikely someone will do this at your house. Why not look in Yellow Pages and make a few phone calls?

They even delived a car to our narrow boat in the middle of nowhere once.
