I’m also Irish and was in Edinburgh a few weeks ago. All the bars are full of different varieties of ales and whiskys which I found great but the bars close real early, about 23.00 or 00.00. You need to get in a nightclub to stay out later, since I’m not a nightclub fan I didn’t really go to many.
Real nice city though, medieval looking. We got drunk all day and then when it became night time, hotel room or strip clubs were the only option left in our opinion.
Just walk out into the City and fun will find you. I have been there a lot and could give you a long list, but it’s more fun if you just let the city show you how great it is
Edinburghs quite a good night out but you can easily go across to glasgow instead, far better night out.

Edinburgh has great pub life, head down the Grassmarket for some fun! Clubs aren’t as good in town anymore – it really depends what you’re into.
