I agree with the recommendations for The Ritz, also afternoon at the Dorchester was great when I went, but it was some time ago…. worth checking it out if you can.

tea at the Ritz is the best. You need to book in advance.
Ideally it should be reserved 2/3 days before you want to be there.

it would absolutely have to be afternoon tea and cakes at The Ritz. i have never been myself but the reputation is second to none.my mum and i are hoping to go up next year to do the same sort of thing as you and we will definitely book just to make damn sure we get in.i hope you have a lovely weekend and please indulge in a whopper of a cream cake for me please!!!

It’s got to be The Ritz. You must book well in advance and they will tell you their dress code. These days the price is around £40 per person, but worth every penny.

The Ritz – its right opposite Green Park tube station and easily accessible. It will cost around £25 each, but for that you get unlimted tea, and also cakes and cucumber sandwiches all on a pretty serving stand. I highly recommend it.

i know some ladies who go every year to the ritz for afternoon tea as a special treat. They have to book as it is so popular. They always see someone famous. Hope you all have a fantastic weekend.

The Savoy is not what it used to be I have been told by a lady I worked with who loves those little treats – since remodernising the tea room/ or where they serve tea is said to be like a corridor

Try the Rubens Hotel close to Victoria Station – anyone who is going to receive medals and honours etc from the queen stop there first as well as Lizzie having a sip of tea there herself and her carriage is kept round the back – so have heard!

The Ritz, but really pricey these days at £27 pp. Try so you can at least see the prices you are up against first. We took our daughter to the Waldorf for tea when she was five and the pianist played some of her favourite songs at the time. It was different that’s for sure! Enjoy!
