This is from the Transport for London journey planner, it gives you your options by Underground inlcuding a maps to show the direction to walk in from your hotel to your chosen Underground Station and directions from King’s Cross to St Pancras International Rail Station.

Your options appearl to be to take the Piccadilly Line from Gloucester Road & go straight to King’s Cross. It also suggests an alternative route via the district and circle lines but I think you can ignore that.

Please do not call it the metro. The metro is in Paris and if you ask directions, the Londoners will either not know what you are talking about or laugh at you.

It is the underground or the tube.

St. Pancras to Gloucester Road on the Piccadilly line is good. Get an oyster card if you are travelling around a bit.
